How Often Should You Really Get a Dental Check-Up and Cleaning?

“Daant theek hain, dard nahi, to dentist kyu jaaun?” – ye thought bohot common hai. Problem ye hai ki cavities aur gum disease early stage me mostly silent rehte hain. Jab tak pain aata hai, kaafi damage ho chuka hota hai.

General recommendation hoti hai: 6 mahine me ek baar check-up + professional cleaning. Lekin exact frequency tumhari risk level pe depend karti hai—agar sugary diet zyada, smoking, weak gums, braces, ya chronic conditions (like diabetes) hain, to dentist shayad zyada frequent visits suggest kare.

Cleaning (scaling) ka matlab daant patle kar dena nahi; wo tartar aur hardened plaque ko remove karta hai jo brush se nahi nikalta. Ye gum inflammation, bleeding, aur bad breath ko control karne me help karta hai.

Regular visit ka hidden benefit yeh hai ki small problems small hi reh jate hain—chhoti cavity simple filling me treat ho jati hai, big root canal/ crown tak nahi pahuchti. Financially bhi long-term me sasta padta hai.

Agar tum 3–4 saal se dentist nahi gaye ho, to “ab toh bohot late ho gaya” soch ke aur delay mat karo. Ek simple check-up se starting point pata chal jaata hai, phir plan bana sakte ho.
