Fracture Recovery: What Physiotherapy Can Do After the Cast Comes Off

Cast utarna usually logon ke liye happy moment hota hai, lekin uske baad ka phase bhi equally important hai. Bone to jud gayi, lekin muscles weak, joint stiff, aur movement restricted ho chuka hota hai. Yahi pe physiotherapy ka main role shuru hota hai.

Jab cast band tha, body naturally “protective mode” me chali gayi. Blood circulation kam, muscle use kam, joint almost freeze. Agar is stage pe directly full force normal activity start kar doge, to pain, limp, ya phir naya strain aa sakta hai.

Physio step-by-step plan banata hai:

  • Pehle gentle range-of-motion exercises – taaki joint dubara smoothly move karna start kare.
  • Phir light strengthening – resistance bands, bodyweight, simple functional tasks.
  • Balance, coordination, gait training (agar leg fracture tha) – walking pattern normal karne ke liye.

Saath hi, swelling control, scar mobility, pain relief techniques (heat, cold, ultrasound, etc.) bhi use ho sakte hain.

Har fracture ka timeline alag hota hai – age, bone type, surgery hua ya nahi – sab matter karta hai. Isliye friend ka recovery time copy mat karo. Regular physio sessions + ghar pe diligently home-exercise karna best combination hota hai.

Goal ye nahi ki sirf X-ray normal aaye, goal ye hai ki tum jo kaam fracture se pehle bina soch ke kar pate the, wapas comfortably kar sako.
